HOW TO HAVE THE PROMISE OF ETERNAL LIFE AND KNOW IT!
John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
Eternal life comes through knowing Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. The bible declares that He alone is the way to heaven and that there is no other name under heaven whereby we can be saved other than the name of Jesus.
Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
You may be thinking but how can I know Him as my personal Savior. There are three things that must take place in our life according to the Word of God. Those three things are CONFESS – REPENT – BELIEVE.
CONFESS - Confession is when we acknowledge to God that we have sinned against him. Unless we are willing to admit our guilt to the Lord, there will be no forgiveness of sin.
1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
REPENT - Repentance takes place when we are truly sorry for our sins and we seek God’s forgiveness for the sins that we have committed through life. Included in true repentance is a willingness to turn from the old life of sin. Just saying the words “I’m sorry” doesn’t necessarily constitute real repentance. God can read our hearts and knows if we are truly sorry for our sins and want to turn from them.
Act 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
BELIEVE - When we have confessed our sins to Him and repented of them , then we must believe that He will forgive us, for I John 1:9 says He is faithful to do this. This final step of faith will bring with it a special peace that only God can give.
Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
There is an assurance from God that comes with this salvation experience. When you truly receive it, you won’t have to depend on people to tell you if you have received it or not. You will sense the change on the inside. God’s Spirit will bear witness with your spirit. The guilt of past sins will be replaced with the peace of God.
1John 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself….
Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU RECEIVE JESUS INTO YOUR HEART SO THAT WE MAY REJOICE WITH YOU. IF YOU NEED SOMEONE TO PRAY WITH YOU, WE WILL BE GLAD TO DO THAT TOO.
