THE FUTURE COME TO PASS

THE FUTURE COME TO PASS

November 3, 2018

God from the very beginning has wanted to bless those that love and walk after his statutes.

Consider Abraham who desired for his son Isaac to have a wife from the land of Haran, the place where the Lord first spoke to him and which was the land of his father. (Read Genesis 24: 7-65 for yourself, to get a good understanding.) In verse 7 Abraham tells his servant about the land that was promised him and his descendants and instructs his servant to go and take a wife for his son. He also tells him that God would send his angel before him. Abraham was speaking to his unnamed servant, who was a type and shadow of the Holy Ghost.

Before I go further I want to note in Genesis 17:1 that God told Abram to be perfect and his name became Abraham. He loved God and he listened to God.
The servant went to Mesopotamia to the city of Nahor and the damsel he found met every requirement that was told that she must perform. Her name was Rebekah and she is a picture of a true servant as the church is to be. (Verses 43-51) In verse 55 the brother and mother wanted her to stay at least ten days. Men’s desire gets in the way! When the servant spoke, he spoke with authority. When the Holy Ghost speaks today, we listen, we accept and we do. (Verses 56-58)

Even as Rebekah, a type and shadow of the church, was ready to go at a moments notice, so should the church be ready. She was willing to sacrifice all. (Eph. 5:30-32)

Verse 60 is very important to the early church and even more so to us in these last days. It says, “And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.” In speaking to the church Jesus said, “and I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18) If you don’t think we are in the last days, you should rethink the time we are living in.

Let’s get back to verse 64-66. She knew who Isaac was from a distance out in the field and it was confirmed by the servant or the Holy Ghost. Isaac is a type and shadow of Christ our Savior and just as it was revealed to her who Isaac was, so God reveals today. (Matt. 16:16-17) How do we know this is the Church of God? (I Corinthians 2:10-13) We must be willing to open our hearts and minds to his Spirit. Saints we are to walk with one mind, in one accord and as one body.

The early church had no fear of death. We in the last days are to have no fear of death. In Genesis verse 65, Rebekah got off the camel and she took a vail and covered herself. (Hebrews 10:14-21)
